Library Essentials

To comply with NUS Libraries' E-Resources Appropriate Use Policy (AUP) which is based on

• License agreements between NUS Libraries and content providers (publishers and vendors)
• Singapore Copyright Act

Prohibited or Inappropriate use include:

• Using e-resources for commercial purposes
• Posting content or violating Copyright Act
• Performing massive searches and data downloading
• Making content available to non-NUS users
• Modifying or creating derivatives
• Sharing user ID and password to access content

Examples of Library E-Resources include:

• Databases
• E-Journals
• E-Books
• Datasets
• Streaming audio/videos

E-resources can be used for

• Current NUS students, staff and other authorised users
• Personal learning and studying purposes
• Teaching and research purposes
