Arboretum: of myths and trees for soprano is a work for 2 flutes, harp, piano and live electronics, was created during the framework of the IRCAM Cursus 2 (2012-2013). The presentation will center around the artistic impetus of capturing the physical gestures of the musicians, the means of production for the electronics, the encounter with sensors and its eventual contextualisation as part of a musical work.

Donc, ce sera... consists of 5 miniatures/impressions to be played continuously. Each section is distinct in character with a fixed set of sonority and gestures, level of rhythmic activity, and timbre.The timbral and registrar trajectory of the piece is in part determined by the interaction between the instruments and displays a wide range of possibilities.

The title of the piece refers to the consonances that the instrumentalist uses when he plays. Using only real-time processing and no sound files, Soh was able to work on a very intimate relationship between piccolo and electronics. She chose this instrument because it fascinated her as much as the constraints of working with such an enigmatic and difficult instrument which constituted a challenge. Soh also wanted to find instrumental writing that, in some parts of the piece, was neither typically vocal nor typically instrumental. The electronics is conceived as an augmentation and an extension of the instrumental writing. The use of real time allowed her to render this aspect of composition "in the present moment" that she was looking for.
