Dialogues in Medicine

Physicians and Patients on 200 Years of Progress

"Please join the NEJM community in a live webcast of a full-day symposium that explores how medical research and practice has evolved to improve people’s lives over the past two centuries. An all-star cast discusses four topics –HIV/AIDS, maternal and fetal health, breast cancer, and cardiology — through moderated, small-panel discussions. Our panelists all have direct experience with these major health areas-- leading experts in each field who can speak to how the disease has changed over time; health professionals whose research and practice have had an impact on the disease and—most important—patients whose personal experiences illustrate the suffering caused by illness, the courage needed to face it, and how advances in medicine have changed their lives. This live event is being simulcast from 9 AM to 5 PM EDT on June 22, 2012. If you miss the live webcast, you will be able to view an edited version here within a few days."
