Course Readings

Course Readings is a NUS Libraries service that provides course-related materials made available, either electronically or physically.

Welcome to Course Readings, watch out for updates on this page!

Course Readings is a library service that provides course-related materials made available, either electronically or physically, through NUS Libraries in the new LMS called Canvas. Items that may be reserved for a class include books, articles and book chapters.

With the move to Canvas, Library E-Reserves will migrate from LumiNUS to Canvas with your courses when you opt-in. In Canvas, the service is now known as Course Readings.

Why should faculty use Course Readings?
  • Add your own readings from NUS Libraries’ extensive collection of e-resources using the self-help functions.
  • Track students’ engagement with the readings to identify students who need help with their learning.
  • Submit request for library staff to locate copyright compliant materials and make copyright declaration all on the same platform.

Note: Canvas Resources for Faculty and Students can be accessed here.

Continuing with LumiNUS until December 2022

  1. LumiNUS will be switched to a read-only status in January 2023. Therefore, readings from E-Reserves in LumiNUS will not be published anymore.
  2. See the Library E-Reserves in LumiNUS guide to publish or add readings if you wish to utilize Library E-Reserves in LumiNUS until December 2022.

Planning to use Canvas

  1. If you have readings in E-Reserves in LumiNUS, your previous Academic Year readings will be migrated to Canvas.
  2. Bookmark this guide for further instructions on how to add and manage your readings.
